The History Of NCFE CACHE

CACHE was established in 1945 by the Ministry of Health under the name of the National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB). The board set the syllabus for the first national examination which took place in 1947. In 1994 the NNEB merged with the Council for Early Years Awards to form CACHE.

In 2015, NCFE acquired CACHE. This has resulted in NCFE CACHE being the UK’s 3rd largest Awarding Body. Combined, they are the leading provider of educational services and as a not for profit organisation have been at the forefront of technical and vocational education for over 170 years.

What Does CACHE Stand For?

CACHE stands for the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, and are the leading specialist Awarding Organisation for the Care and Education Sector. CACHE has developed qualifications of excellence for over 70 years to more than 1,000 UK-based and overseas delivery partners.
