How studying works at Oxbridge Home Learning
Which course should I choose?
Some distance learning colleges offer hundreds and hundreds of courses. But that’s not us. We believe in quality, not quantity here at Oxbridge. We currently offer 173 courses (not that we’re counting), and we’re proud of each and every single one. We’re all about your end goal. Maybe you’re studying to get further in your career, or maybe you’d like to start on a completely different path. We offer accredited and recognised qualifications that get you to where you want to be.
Absolutely fine. We have some pretty amazing Course Advisers here, and their job is to help you with that decision. Simply give one of them a call or start a live chat by click the bubble in the bottom-right corner. If now isn’t a good time, you can arrange a call back at a time that’s convenient for you by filling out the form below.
Courses we’re renowned for include:
- Teaching Assistant Courses
- Childcare Courses
- Animal Care Course
- Beauty Therapy Courses
- ICB Bookkeeping Courses
- Counselling Courses
- Psychology Courses
Online or Paper-based study?
Many of our courses have the option to either be studied online, or you can have the course materials posted out to you.
If you study online, your course is delivered via our online learning platform within 48 hours of you enrolling, providing you with a dynamic and engaging experience: from videos to e-books and online quizzes. If this is the only option with the course you’ve chosen and you’d prefer the course on paper – don’t worry – you can print the learning materials yourself or for an additional fee, we can send the materials to you.
If the course is only available to study in paper-based form, all the course materials will be sent to you via DPD and should be with you in around 7 days. Feel free to make notes and scribble all over them: they’re yours.
How do I enrol?
Ready to get started? We’re right behind you – we make the enrolment process as easy as possible. Simply add your chosen course to your basket, complete our quick and easy online checkout process, and we’ll do the rest. If you’d rather enrol over the phone, that’s fine too! Use the Request a Callback form above and we’d be happy to help.
“Do I have to pay all in one go?”
Unlike other distance learning providers, we don’t charge you any more to pay in instalments. Just pay a minimum deposit of 10% towards your course at the time of enrolment, and then spread the rest of the payments over 6, 9 or 12 months – completely interest-free.
You’ve just made the first step in Building a Better You – congratulations! All you need to do now is wait for your course to arrive. Feel free to do other things in the meantime, or wait by the window for the postman/postwoman to arrive (we won’t judge you, we know how exciting it is!)
Once your course arrives, make yourself a brew (or cheeky gin & tonic*), and have a sit-down. Yes, really – you’ve earned it. We recommend taking a good half an hour to make yourself familiar with all the materials you’ve been sent. You’ll find a welcome letter in your pack that will give you the name of your personal tutor and how to contact them. You’ll also get your log in details for the online learning platform – if you’ve chosen to study that way.
Do I have to start studying right away?
You have 12 months to complete your course (or 18 months for some courses) so if you don’t want to start studying for a few weeks, there’s no pressure. Alternatively, some of our students can’t wait to get going and complete their course within a few months. This is why studying through distance learning is so great – it works around your current commitments.
