Overview

You’ve aced the application process, and now you’ve landed an interview. How can you make sure that you stand out from the other applicants? Our Interview Skills short course will tell you everything you need to know, from how to prepare before an interview, to how to follow up afterwards.

Created in conjunction with recruitment experts Pertemps and Hinterview, this interactive online short course will help you land that dream job

You’ll learn the importance of research, body language, and a good first impression, as well as become familiar with some popular interview techniques such as the STAR method. We’ll also dive into the potentially unfamiliar world of video interviewing, and give you the rundown on psychometric testing. This course is delivered via interactive eBooks, videos, and printable PDFs which can be worked through at your own pace.

We’ve turned this course into a FREE Job Ready Pack, containing modules on Dealing with Redundancy and CV Writing, which will help you deal with the difficult transition process if you’ve been affected by job loss, and apply for new roles with confidence.

What you'll learn

Unit 1 - Interview skills

In this interactive eBook, we’ll start with the basics: exactly what you need to do before, during, and after your interview to give yourself the best chance of landing the job. We’ll go into detail about how to hone your communication skills, how to make an excellent first impression, what to wear, and the etiquette on following up with the employer or hiring manager afterwards.

Unit 2 - Zoom interview tips

Are you preparing for a virtual interview? It may sound scary, but don’t worry – this section will tell you everything you need to know to prepare to be interviewed via video, including how to dress, and familiarising yourself with the technology.

Unit 3 - How to do a video interview

Here, two recruitment experts from Hinterview explain the video interviewing process, and give their professional insight into how you can make an excellent impression and seal the deal on landing that dream job.

Unit 4 - Types of psychometric tests

Psychometric testing is incredibly popular amongst employers and hiring managers these days as a way to determine which applicants have the skills to perform well in the advertised vacancy. Here, we’ll run through every type of psychometric testing you could possibly encounter, and exactly what they involve.

Unit 5 - Practise psychometric tests

Following on from the previous section, here, you’ll get to test your skills for real! We’ve created a range of psychometric test questions of every possible type, so you can see what you’re great at, and what you need to improve.
