Unit 1: Contemporary HRM
In this unit you will explore the modern practices, strategies, and philosophies used to manage an organisation’s workforce effectively in today’s dynamic business environment. Contemporary Human Resource Management focuses on aligning HR policies with organisational goals while addressing the challenges of globalisation, technological advancements, diverse workforces, and evolving employee expectations.
Unit 2: Leading, managing, and HR development
This unit covers a broad range of topics to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively lead teams, manage organisational operations, and develop human resources strategically.
Unit 3: Resourcing, talent management and development
For this unit you will focus on strategies and practices related to acquiring, managing, developing, and retaining talent in organisations. It will cover theoretical foundations, practical tools, and contemporary challenges in these areas.
Unit 4: Performance management
In this unit you will focus on strategies, tools, and practices for evaluating and improving employee performance to align with organisational goals. The unit will provide both theoretical frameworks and practical applications to understand and implement effective performance management systems.
Unit 5: Employee relations
This unit focuses on understanding, managing, and fostering the relationship between employers and employees. It will explore legal, psychological, and practical dimensions of the workplace, emphasising strategies for maintaining a positive, productive, and compliant work environment.
Unit 6: Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective
In this final unit your focus will be on identifying, analysing, and addressing business challenges using HR frameworks, research methodologies, and strategic approaches. This unit integrates theoretical knowledge with practical problem-solving skills to address real-world organisational issues from an HR perspective.
Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of this online learning course, you will be awarded the Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management (603/0722/5) and be able to use your knowledge to complete a dissertation at Masters degree level. You can join a university partner through OBS and progress into career in human resources or associated profession.
Examinations and Assessments
This course is assessed by six written assignments, of approximately 2000 – 3000 words in length. You’ll also have opportunities to gain feedback from your personal tutor, selected based on their subject expertise and experience.
Entry Requirements
You will be expected to hold a Level 6 qualification or first-class degree in order to enrol on this course. In some circumstances, managers with significant experience may be considered.
