The ICB Bookkeeping Course
Completing an ICB Bookkeeping course through Oxbridge has changed my life in so many ways. This qualification has been key to unlocking my career goals and has enabled me to feel much more fulfilled. This time last year, I felt like I had no clear direction forward. Now I feel in charge of my future.
I have always had an interest in numbers; in fact, maths was my favourite subject in school. However, I did not end up using these skills, as I went down a different route. Over the past ten years, I have worked in various sales and retail roles. I had no real passion for what I was doing.
Finding Oxbridge
It was through undertaking some data entry while working in a voluntary position for a charity organisation that I realised that bookkeeping might be a good career path for me. However, I did not fully understand how to achieve this goal at the time. Thankfully a friend pointed me in the direction of Oxbridge and the distance learning ICB Bookkeeping course, which led me to the path I am on today.
Choosing Distance Learning
As this was a distance learning course, I could continue working and earning money. I was also able to study in a flexible way, which suited my family commitments at the time. This course was the step forward I needed to change my life around and the first step into gaining the qualification I required to be a bookkeeper and enabled me join the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
Turning Goals into Reality
I now work at a small local business and have the job satisfaction I have been longing for. My day is filled with spreadsheets and numbers, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it suits me down to the ground. Once I have completed the next step I am hoping (in the longer-term) to start my own bookkeeping business. I would not have been able to make the changes that I did without studying the bookkeeping course through Oxbridge.
