What you will learn
Below is an outline of the course material you will study:
Unit 1: Principles of business (L/507/4329)
Within this unit, you’ll be introduced to the world of business. You’ll gain a better understanding of business markets, looking at the interactions between them, and how organisations are influenced by the markets. You’ll learn the principles of marketing and the process a company undertakes to promote and sell its products or services. Finally, you’ll discover why financial viability lies at the crux of any organisation, the consequences of bad financial management, and how to manage a budget.
Unit 2: Principles of business communication and information (T/507/5779)
In the second unit, you’ll gain an understanding of key communication tools in business, such as negotiation, development and delivery of presentations, bespoke business documents, and information systems. Moving on, you’ll look at business communication models, systems, and processes.
Unit 3: Principles of administration (M/507/5781)
Moving on to unit three, you’ll find out how to manage an office facility, and consider health and safety in a business environment. You’ll look at how to take minutes, chair, lead, and manage meetings, as well as supervise an administration team and organise events.
Unit 4: Understand how to develop and deliver a presentation (T/507/4339)
Within this unit you’ll learn the principles of underpinning the development and delivery of presentations. You’ll move onto discover the advantages and limitations of various forms of media and delve into factors affecting contingency plans and different methods of evaluating presentations.
Unit 5: Understand how to deliver customer service (Y/507/5788)
Unit five will equip you with the knowledge to deliver top quality customer service, as well as monitor and resolve customers’ complaints.
Unit 6: Principles of digital marketing and research (R/507/5790)
In the final unit, you’ll begin by taking a look at the role of digital marketing within a wider organisation, and how its effectiveness can be evaluated. You’ll discover the importance of SEO, and the importance of a coherent web strategy. Moving on, you’ll find out how CRM systems are used, before focusing on the requirements and advantages of different tracking systems.
Unit 7: Principles of Leadership and Management (F/507/4330)
On this final unit, you’ll be equip with an understanding of the principles of leadership and management, including styles and models of leadership. You’ll complete this course with an overview of the roles, functions, and processes of management.
