Overview

Enjoy a career as a qualified mortgage adviser with this Ofqual-regulated CeMAP course online. Oxbridge offers fully accredited CeMAP training, ending with an official CeMAP qualification and a license to practice. The best part is that it can be studied from home.

What Is CeMAP?
CeMAP stands for Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice and covers everything you need to know about the mortgage industry to offer informed, professional advice to clients. This certificate is a highly respected benchmark CeMAP qualification, and once you’ve completed it, you’ll be fully qualified and licensed to practice as a mortgage adviser or broker. After you've passed your exams and achieved your CeMAP qualification, you’ll be ready to start your new and exciting career, where you could earn up to £70,000 per year!

Why choose the CeMAP qualification?

This CeMAP course meets standards set by the Financial Services Authority and is awarded by the London Institute of Banking and Finance. This course is split into three modules and includes a general introduction to the UK financial services industry and the relevant regulations and legislation you’ll need to be aware of to give valuable and ethical advice. When ready, you can sit your exams online, with provisional results available instantaneously! *CeMAP® is a London Institute of Banking & Finance registered trademark.

Start your CeMAP course from home today and get qualified quickly. On average, students pass twice as quickly with Oxbridge CeMAP training.

What you'll learn

Unit 1 - UK Financial Regulation (UKFR)

In the first unit, you’ll get an introduction to the financial services environment and products, and study UK financial services and regulation. This module will act as a foundation of knowledge for the rest of the course.

Unit 2 - Mortgages (MORT)

In unit two, you’ll learn about mortgage law, policy, practise, and markets, mortgage applications, and payment methods and products. Moving on, you’ll study mortgage arrears and post-completion issues.

Unit 3 - Assessment of mortgage advice and knowledge

In the final unit, you’ll consolidate everything you learned in units one and two, and apply your new knowledge to case study scenarios.

What qualification is CeMAP equivalent to?

What’s the difference between a mortgage advisor and mortgage broker?

There’s essentially no difference between a mortgage advisor and a mortgage broker. While the specifics of the job descriptions may vary, the primary function of both mortgage advisors and mortgage brokers is the same – to find customers the right mortgage for their circumstances.

How can I self-study to be a mortgage adviser?

There are multiple ways to gain a finance-related qualification; however, more and more people are drawn to self-study. This avenue gives you much more control over your learning. You don’t have to schedule your work and personal life around attending a brick and mortar school or be held back by others who aren’t picking things up as quickly as you.

The easiest way to self-study a finance course is to do it online. That way, you have 24-hour access to high-quality learning materials at any time or place and can schedule a virtual one-to-one whenever you require additional help or support.

What finance courses should I take?

That depends on your current training and where you want your career to take you. For example, if you don’t have any financial qualifications, we’d suggest studying an A-level in economics.

Once you’ve gained a solid foundation, you can progress onto more specialised courses.

One of our most popular finance-related courses is the CeMap mortgage advisor course, specifically designed for individuals entirely new to the mortgage industry. Upon completing the course, you’ll receive a ‘licence to practice’ thanks to the course’s FCA accreditation.

If you don’t quite know which course is right for you, speak to one of our learning advisers, who would be happy to help.

Whether it’s planning for retirement or trying to budget and save for a new home, many people get frazzled when it comes to their finances. Put your skills and passion to good use for a rewarding career.
