Overview

If you’ve recently been made redundant, you’ll know that it’s a very challenging experience, both financially and mentally. Experts have likened the emotional trauma of unexpected job loss to that of bereavement because there is a similar grieving process as you adapt to your changed circumstances.

This short course is intended to make this experience as painless as possible and will walk you through practical guidance, as well as discuss how to deal with the negative emotions you might be feeling. You’ll learn more about your rights during the redundancy process along with how to contest your employer’s decision, financial planning advice, how to prepare yourself to re-enter working life, and more. We’ll also talk you through the mental health challenges you might be facing, and how to start thinking about your happiness moving forward. This course is delivered via interactive eBooks and printable PDFs which can be studied at your own pace, in your own time.

We’ve turned this course into a FREE Job Ready Pack, containing modules on CV Writing and Interview Skills, which will give you the tools and knowledge you need to apply for new roles with confidence and ace the interview process.

In section two, we’ll discuss how to deal with mental health issues you might be facing after redundancy, and suggest some rules you should stick to which might make the transition easier.

Unit 3 - Life after redundancy

In the final section, we’ll help you start to think about your next steps. Should you stay in the same sector, or consider re-training? You’ll receive helpful pointers on how to decide what’s best for you, and be truly happy in your working life moving forward.

Early Years

Beginning my career as an early years practitioner inspired me to step into the world of teaching. I have since elevated my skillset through a range of qualifications including L3 in Assessing Vocational Achievement, L3 in Education & Training and L4 in Internal Quality Assurance. I’m a big kid at heart; I love Disney movies and also dabble in photography.

Health care

For 10+ years, my passion for helping learners develop and grow has driven my career as a teacher. To help me progress even further, I am currently studying to achieve the IQA award. I love reading and I’m a self-professed Harry Potter fan. Talk to me about all things history, rock music, tattoos and true crime podcasts.

STEM and History of Art

Marine biology, jellyfish conservationist, hairdresser, fitness instructor… I have an eclectic backstory! Art is my passion and one of my proudest moments was achieving my Masters in Fine Art. I then requalified as an Art teacher to share my knowledge with my students. For most of my career, I’ve supported vulnerable students with additional needs such as SEMH and SEN.
