The Oxbridge GCSE and A-Level Scholarship Competition

This summer Oxbridge is launching The Oxbridge Scholarship Competition. To support you on your journey to higher education or career development, we are fully funding a GCSE and A-Level course for two lucky winners AND funding 50% of course fees for two runners-up!

It’s never too late to begin a new path or have a second chance. If you need GCSE or A-Level qualifications to take the next step, we can help you complete your qualifications from home! If you’ve been affected by a recent loss of crucial teacher hours, cancelled exams or unemployment, distance learning GCSE and A-Levels can reduce the stress.

What is The Oxbridge Scholarship Competition?

This is your chance to receive your GCSE or A-Level course fees paid for in part or in full! The scholarship contribution is towards our fantastic distance learning courses, learning without limits in your own home and at your own pace, with unlimited tutor support.

The Oxbridge Scholarship Competition will run from Monday the 20th July and will end on Monday the 21st September.

How do I enter the competition?

Entrants must enrol on any  GCSE or A-Level course  within the competition timeframe mentioned above.

After enrolling, send us a self-recorded video explaining your goals and reasons for studying. This is #ThePurposeChallenge. Show us how committed and passionate you are about achieving your dreams! Celebrate how education gives you purpose and the power to transform your life.

What should I say in the video?

Here are some ideas of what you could say. If you’re nervous, then jot down your answers to these questions first and have them to hand when you record your video.

  1.  Tell us your name, your age and the course you’ve enrolled on.
  2.  Why have you enrolled on this course?
  3.  What inspires and motivates you?
  4. What do you hope to achieve?
  5.  Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 year’s time?
  6.  How would winning this scholarship impact your life?

The most important thing is that you speak from the heart. Videos should be between 30 and 60 seconds long.

How do I record my video?

There’s no right or wrong way to produce your video, but here are a few tips you can follow to show yourself at your best:

  • If recording on your phone, prop it up somewhere steady so you don’t have to hold it, or better yet, ask someone else to record you.
  • If you’re recording on a laptop, make sure you save your video as an .MP4 or .MOV file.
  • Keep background noise to a minimum; it’s better to be inside to minimise the noise of traffic.
  • Look straight at the camera dot when you’re talking rather than at yourself on the screen.

We’re not looking for anything professional, don’t worry! Just be yourself.

How do I submit my video?

Once you’re happy, email your video to [email protected]. If your video is too large to attach to an email, you can send it for free via a transfer service such as WeTransfer.

We’ll send you a friendly reply to let you know your entry has been accepted. Keep an eye on our social media pages, as we’ll also be sharing some of our favourite videos to inspire others and celebrate your ambition! But remember, any video we share on social media may, or may not, be the winner!

We’d encourage you to upload your video to your own social profiles too, so we can comment on and share them. Just be sure to tag us with @oxbridgehome and #ThePurposeChallenge.

How will the winner be selected?

There’s no way we could compare one person’s dreams and ambition to the next person’s, as you’ve all got that winning factor. So to keep things fair, we’re choosing the winners at random. One GCSE student and one A-Level student will receive 100% course funding, and two runners-up will receive 50% funding towards their GCSE or A-Level course.

You can browse all the GCSE and A-Level courses we offer and enrol today to kickstart your learning journey. If you need career or academic guidance, our course advisers are happy to answer your questions. Simply speak to us on live chat and we’ll point you in the right direction.
