This is the full version of the TAQA course. Upon successful completion of this CAVA qualification, you will become a qualified assessor. This course replaces the old A1 / A2 and D32 / 33 assessor qualifications.

CACHE stands for the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, and are the leading specialist Awarding Organisation for the Care and Education Sector.
It takes around 85 hours to complete the learning for this course, which is around 30 minutes per day for 6 months. The total qualification time is 150 hours.
The course is specially designed for study by distance learning. Throughout the course, there will be self-assessment questions, and tutor marked assignments (TMAs), to enable you to monitor your progress.
You have up to a year to complete this course and we have included a suggested number of study hours. This is usually ample time for learners, even with full-time jobs and other commitments. Don’t worry if you go over the year though, we can organise an extension to your course for a small fee, which also extends your tutor support.
Each unit is followed by a written tutor marked assignment (TMA), which is submitted and then marked by your tutor. You will not be required to take an external exam.

This is a performance unit for anyone who assesses in the work environment using methods such as observations, questions and examining products of work.
The aim of this unit is to assess the trainee Assessor’s performance in assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (eg workshops, classrooms or other training environments), and in any other environment using methods such as assignments, projects, simulations and tests.
